$125.00French 19th-20th century Louis XV bombe shaped petit-bureau de dame (secretary). banded with a gilt rim. Six small drawers form the superstructure of the desk. A small gilt decorated (none working) clock is cantered above the drawers. The leather desk top is outlined with a gilt twisted ribbon and the desk is fitted with a frieze drawer, attributed to François Linke (1855-1946). The pad feet and knees of the cabriole legs are decorated with a gilt leaf design and the front of the freeze drawer is similarly decorated with an extended carved leaf and bottom moulding. The finger-moulded walnut frame incorporates the long sweeping cures of the Rocco style. The top rail of the frame is surmounted by elaborate pieced and carved design. At the high end of the chaise the rail extends with a cyma curve down to the front and back cabriole legs.
