1930 to 1960s Mid century designed furniture is recognised by clean sleek lines and functionality of the items. The serving table is supported on square legs following an A Frame deign. A bottom shelf forms a spreader bar and the section of the table that contains the 2 drawers over hangs the supporting legs. Ming Dinisty Writing Table Chair-Black
Yokeback arm chair Ming dynasty,( the origional can be seen in the Metropolitan Museum of Art) it was origionaly used as the chair for a Chinese painting desk. The design of this chair is simple.The top of the chair fame is Cyma shaped, The back is a flat splat with moulded edges and a very small cut out were the splat fits on to the chair seat. (Hence the name yoke back)The top of the back frame and splat are curved back slightly. The chairt has open arms curved outwards with straight supports.The seat frame is molded with a curved valance that forms part of the front framework.Shaped brace blocks have been incorporated on the front legs,under the seat at the sides and at the front of the chair under the arm rests.The chair measures 6 1/4 inches high x 2 inches wide x 1 1/2 inches deep and is available in black.
